Analog Tech Ltd (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates The First Forty Days mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
We are committed to protecting the privacy of new mothers and their families during the vulnerable postpartum period. We collect the minimum data necessary to provide our services.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Family Information: Baby’s name, birth date, and delivery type to personalise your experience.
- Gatekeeper Settings: Visit status, dietary preferences, cravings, and notes you choose to share.
- Meal & Visit Data: Meal schedules, visitor names, and visit times you enter for coordination.
- Tasks: Help tasks you create and assign to your support network.
Automatically Collected Information
- Device Identifier: A unique device ID used to associate your device with your family account. We do not collect Apple IDFA or advertising identifiers.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Health or medical records
- Location data
- Photos or media files
- Contacts or address book data
- Analytics or tracking data
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely to:
- Provide and maintain the App’s features
- Sync family data between the mother’s device and partner/support devices
- Generate your shareable family status page (only when you enable it)
- Store your bookmarked content preferences
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the App’s core functionality.
4. Data Storage & Security
- Local Encryption: All journal entries and personal checklists are encrypted at rest on your device using AES-256-GCM with keys stored in the iOS Keychain.
- Server Data: Family coordination data (meals, tasks, visits, gatekeeper settings) is stored on secure servers to enable syncing between devices.
- Database: We use PostgreSQL with encrypted connections.
- Share Pages: If you enable a public status page, only the data you explicitly choose to share is made accessible via your unique link.
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With Your Support Network: Partner/support devices linked via your invite code can access shared family data.
- Public Status Page: If enabled, anyone with your unique share link can view the information you choose to display.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your family data for as long as your account exists. You may request deletion of all your data at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion request, all server-stored data associated with your device ID will be permanently removed within 30 days.
Locally encrypted data on your device is deleted when you uninstall the App.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for adults (new parents and their support network). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The baby information stored (name, birth date) is provided by the parent and is used solely for personalisation.

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Know how your data is being used
